A range of Alzmetall morse taper spindles, from 100 to 2900 rpm
TLDR: Alzmetall pillar drills use a morse taper spindle (MK3 or MK4 depending on the model), with stepped speed ranges generally between 100 and 2900 rpm depending on the configuration, for spindle motor ratings of 1.3 to 2.9 kW.
On Alzmetall AB series pillar drills, the Alzmetall morse taper spindle — MK3 on compact models such as the AB3 ESV, MK4 on higher-capacity models such as the AB 40 SV — covers speed ranges stepped in two or three bands: for example 100 to 1600 rpm on the AB 40 SV model, or 220-800 then 800-2900 rpm in two bands on the AB3 ESV model, for spindle motor ratings of 1.3 to 2.9 kW depending on the configuration.
On higher-capacity sliding column models such as the Alzstar 40, the MK3 morse taper spindle covers a range of 160 to 2250 rpm for a drilling capacity in steel of 40 mm diameter and a thread cutting capacity up to M20/M30. On ALZTRONIC series bench tapping machines, with a touchscreen and an integrated digital calculator to determine the optimum cutting speed for the material, the spindle is paired with a Spiro chuck with anti-rotation safety, in a range covering training, laboratories and machine builders. These mechanical speed bands are among the assemblies we check systematically during diagnostics, alongside the bearings.
