The 5-axis heads of Belotti centres use torque motors (Torque technology, designed and patented by the manufacturer), Heidenhain optical scales on the linear axes, and very high rigidity structures to improve accuracy and finish quality. The patented fork head, compact and rigid, is fitted notably on the SKY series, with torque motors and hydraulic clamping brakes on the A and C rotary axes, guaranteeing a superior finish when machining linear axes interpolated with rotary axes — on some configurations the centre of rotation of the A-axis spindle is offset to reach a 45° undercut, allowing the part to be machined from below. On standard configurations, the milling centre spindle can reach 24,000 rpm. On the VEGA series, vision cameras built into the spindle housing allow real-time process verification and monitoring.
