The TVU range (universal vertical lathes) is particularly well suited to machining engine and turbine parts, mainly intended for the aerospace industry or for alternative and conventional power generation. These machines are characterised by an all-cast-iron design, high-precision static and dynamic positioning, and long-term reliability. A notable innovation from the manufacturer, developed since 2005 on more than thirty vertical grinding machines before being extended to lathes (TVU 2000/160 with a 10,000 Nm torque motor at 350 rpm), was the transition from classic chain-and-gearbox drives to a torque-motor transmission with no mechanical components, combining both turning and milling drive functions.

On TVU vertical lathes, the option of fitting a grinding and milling spindle turns the machine into a genuine high-performance machining centre, with an optional table cross-slide on the Y axis allowing turning, milling and grinding of complete components in a single clamping. This spindle can reach a power of 45 kW for a torque of 345 Nm at 6,000 rpm, with a slide cross-section of 250 x 250 mm and toolholders in CAPTO, HSK, KM or Berthiez interfaces for turning, and CAPTO, HSK, KM or ISO for milling. The use of high-pressure coolant, up to 400 bar on Berthiez solutions, significantly increases productivity when machining difficult materials such as titanium.
