TLDR: Fives is a French industrial engineering group. Its machining division brings together several historic machine tool brands, including Forest-Liné, Dufieux, Landis, Cincinnati and Giddings & Lewis.
The Fives group built its machining division through successive acquisitions. It took over from MAG the business of MAG IAS LLC (MAG Americas), which covered the Cincinnati, Giddings & Lewis, Forest-Liné and Liné Machines brands, together with the associated services. In 2020 it also took over the machining business of Dufieux, keeping the Échirolles site (Isère, France). Landis, a high-precision grinding brand, is also part of the group's catalogue, with its TTG 3000 platform.
