Gravograph, a worldwide reference in engraving since 1938

TLDR: Gravograph, founded in 1938 in the United States as New Hermès and inventor of the first compact pantograph, is today the worldwide reference in mechanical and laser engraving, with the Gravotech group (Rillieux-la-Pape, France, €125 million turnover, 950 employees) counting more than 200,000 machines in service at around 60,000 customers worldwide.

Founded in 1938 in the United States as New Hermès, inventor of the first compact pantograph, Gravograph arrived in Europe in 1946 (United Kingdom) before becoming a French manufacturer of mechanical machines from 1950 near Troyes, then a manufacturer of consumable materials from 1963 (Gravoply) and publisher of its own control software. Now part of the Gravotech group, based in Rillieux-la-Pape near Lyon, the company generates 85% of its business from exports and has more than 200,000 machines in service worldwide at around 60,000 customers — from the neighbourhood engraving shop to the largest automotive and aerospace manufacturers. The range covers mechanical and laser engraving machines (M20, M40, IS400, LW2, LW3), micro-percussion marking systems (Impact, XF510, XF530) and automated laser stations for large-format manufacturer plate marking.

A range of 30 to 150 W high-frequency spindles for precision mechanical engraving

TLDR: Gravograph mechanical engraving machines use a high-frequency spindle or collet, with power ratings typically from 30 to 150 W depending on the model, and an adjustable rotation speed matched to the material being engraved.

On the mechanical engraving machines of the M and IS ranges, a high-frequency spindle with various collet ring options equips the engraving head, with power ratings typically from 30 W on compact models (M40) up to 90-150 W on industrial machines (IS400). The adjustable rotation speed of these spindles meets demanding marking and machining requirements according to the material (metal, plastic, wood, glass), with a range of compatible tools covering diamond points and Twincut, Onecut and Percut cutters. Gravotech high-frequency spindles are also offered in two sizes depending on the application: a compact version for small jobs, and a more powerful version for large cutting and milling operations.
