HSTec spindle and motor spindle repair
Brochexpress is an independent workshop specialising in the repair, maintenance and diagnostics of HSTec spindles and motor spindles — a brand of the German CHIRON group, with a range covering milling, boring and grinding, including spindles reaching up to 80,000 rpm.
HSTec, a CHIRON group brand specialising in high-performance spindles
TLDR: HSTec, a brand of the CHIRON group, designs high-performance spindles for a wide variety of milling, boring and grinding applications, with robust and reliable ranges suited to high load capacities and high-efficiency machining on numerically controlled machine tools.
HSTec, a brand of the German CHIRON group (the machining centre manufacturer also covered in our pages), designs high-performance spindles for a wide variety of milling and boring applications, robust and reliable for high load capacities, built for high-efficiency machining on numerically controlled machine tools. Beyond milling, HSTec also develops high-precision spindles for internal and external cylindrical grinding, with reduced vibration amplitudes during the grinding process guaranteeing excellent workpiece surface quality. That dual competence, milling and grinding, sets HSTec apart from many manufacturers specialised in a single segment.
A range of motor spindles from low-speed tapping up to 80,000 rpm
TLDR: HSTec motor spindles cover a very wide speed range depending on the series, from 300 rpm on CAQ series boring spindles up to 80,000 rpm on the 96 series dedicated to very high speed milling, with grinding spindles reaching 75,000 rpm.
HSTec CAQ series motor spindles, dedicated to boring, cover a rotation speed range from 300 to 1,100 rpm, suited to operations requiring high torque at moderate speed. On the HFSAC series, dedicated to milling, rotation speed can reach 24,000 rpm for spindle diameters of 65 or 80 mm. The 96 series, aimed at very high speed milling and cutting, covers a range from 0 to 80,000 rpm, a level of performance that allows the economical machining particularly sought after in mould making. In the grinding segment, the HSM060SB spindle can reach 75,000 rpm for a diameter of 120 mm, illustrating the manufacturer's expertise in very high speed grinding applications requiring excellent surface quality.

Frequently asked questions
Do you repair very high speed HSTec motor spindles (up to 80,000 rpm)?
Yes, we work on these spindles, taking account of their specific balancing requirements.
Do you work on HSTec grinding spindles (HSM series, up to 75,000 rpm)?
Yes, we diagnose and repair these spindles, preserving their characteristically low vibration amplitude.
How long does a full overhaul take?
Allow around 20 working days in the workshop, depending on the condition of the spindle and the availability of parts (bearings, seals, specific components).
Do you work on CAQ series boring motor spindles?
Yes, we diagnose and repair these spindles, whatever the configured speed.
Do you offer a preventive maintenance contract for a fleet of machines fitted with HSTec motor spindles?
Yes, we set up preventive maintenance programmes tailored to your production rate.
