On conventional Kondia milling machines, such as the B-1050 model, the Kondia ISO 40 taper spindle (ISO 7388) covers a speed range of 100 to 6,000 rpm, with a total power rating of 19 kW and a maximum spindle-to-table distance of 760 mm.
On modern machining centres of the HC-400 and URBAN2500 series, the spindle keeps the ISO 40 interface but reaches 10,000 rpm for a power rating of 15 kW, with a 24-position automatic tool changer and a Heidenhain position measuring system. On the ZM 99 MF pallet-changer vertical machining centre, the ISO 40 taper spindle reaches its maximum speed of 15,000 rpm for a power rating of 20 kW, with an automatic tool changer holding up to 60 positions — a capacity particularly suited to long runs requiring many tool changes, and all the more demanding on the tool clamping system, which we check systematically.
