Leadwell CNC Machines Mfr. Corp. is one of the oldest Taiwanese machine tool manufacturers, with a brand philosophy that has remained faithful to its beginnings: the constant pursuit of excellence. The V series vertical machining centres, versatile machines for all milling and drilling operations in small and medium batches, are among the most widely installed models in France, with options such as spindle cooling or 20 bar through-tool coolant — two systems whose condition directly determines spindle life, and which form part of our systematic diagnostics.
A range of Leadwell BT40 spindles, from 10,000 to 15,000 rpm
TLDR: Leadwell machining centres use BT40 taper spindles, with standard rotation speeds of 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000 rpm depending on the configuration, power ratings reaching up to 18.5 kW on 5 axis pendulum models, and tool changers with 24 to 40 positions.
On V series vertical machining centres (such as the V20, V30M, V32, V40iL, V50L or the MCV-660), the Leadwell BT40 taper spindle is available in three standard speed ranges: 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000 rpm, with an automatic tool changer of 24 to 30 positions and compatibility with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens or Fagor CNC controls. On the V40iT 5 axis centre, fitted with a 350 mm diameter rotary table for machining complex parts in 5 axes, the BT40 spindle covers the same 10,000 to 15,000 rpm range, with a 24 to 40 position tool changer.
On BC series 5 axis pendulum centres (BC-700, BC-960), with a tilting rotary table able to carry up to 1,600 kg in the fixed position and 400 kg in the rotary position, the BT40 spindle delivers 18.5 kW for the same speed ranges, with an 800 mm diameter table on the BC-960 model allowing the machining of complex cylindrical as well as rectangular parts. Horizontal machining centres (H-400, H-500) and higher-capacity boring machines take larger diameter spindles, which we also overhaul.
