The current manufacturer, however, no longer always holds spare parts for models built before the 1990s: it is precisely in that segment that overhauling a Pinacho spindle retains its full value, a well-maintained machine remaining productive where replacement is not justified. The range has grown over time with CNC lathes covering a broad spectrum of applications: the Taurus and ST series for high-capacity turning, the Mustang series for precision turning, the Rayo series for compact applications, and the SE series, notably available in a twin-spindle version for complete machining of complex parts in a single setup.
A range of conventional and CNC Pinacho spindles, from 100 to 4000 rpm

On conventional Pinacho lathes, the spindle is driven through a system of stepped mechanical speed bands, for example three ranges (0-240, 240-630, 630-1700 rpm) on higher-capacity models, or a continuous range of 100 to 4000 rpm on more compact models, for power ratings of 5.5 to 11 kW depending on the spindle bore diameter, generally 42 to 80 mm.
On modern CNC lathes such as the ST 225/1000, the Pinacho spindle delivers 9 kW for a maximum speed of 3000 rpm, with a 65 mm chuck bore diameter. On higher-capacity lathes such as the Taurus 260 or the STH 400, the high-torque spindle reaches 2500 rpm for power ratings of 11 kW, suited to machining shafts, tubes and flanges. On the twin-spindle SE series, two spindles equip the machine for complete machining of parts in a single setup, with turning diameters reaching 402 mm over the bed — a configuration where synchronisation of the two spindles is an integral part of the return-to-service check.
