The Vturn-A series horizontal lathes come as standard with a latest-technology direct drive spindle (DDS, Direct Drive Spindle), paired with an in-house-built turret for the best surface finish quality and the highest angular precision, with C-axis, Y-axis and auxiliary spindle options as required. On the vertical machining centres, the BBT-40 spindle runs at 12,000 rpm for 18.5 kW in the standard configuration, or up to 15,000 rpm for 22 kW on 5-axis configurations with a swivel head. This swivel head (B axis), locked on a Hirth coupling with a 1-degree increment, makes it possible to use the spindle's full power while guaranteeing the rigidity required for precision milling, with a table clamping torque (C axis) of up to 3,343 Nm.
